EDGE grant funds of $42,000 will assist with building improvements to support the expansion of Stitch-N-Print, Inc. (SNP), a sewing manufacturer headquartered in Twin City, Emanuel County, Georgia. The Company, specializing in the production of uniform embellishments, has contracts with Aramark, Blue Force Gear, Jensen Apparel and Cintas Uniforms. In addition, the company has recently become a vendor for federal government procurement contracts. The Company has expanded its current facility which included replacing the HVAC system. SNP, a privately held company started in 2001, has facilities in Twin City and Millen, Georgia as well as Bluefield, Virginia. The Company’s newest capability is producing and heat-sealing reflective designs and garments.

Equity grant funds will be used to assist with the construction of an access road and production well to support the development of a 570 acre industrial park located south of Swainsboro, approximately 1.4 miles north of I-16 on the west side of SR-4/US Hwy 1. Lack of water, sewer and road access into the industrial site impair the county’s ability to attract new business, especially those prospects who intend to locate quickly. The construction of a large capacity deep well suitable for serving the entire Park and extension of the existing entrance into the Park are proposed to increase marketability of the Park’s industrial sites, located less than 90 miles from the Georgia Port in Savannah.

Equity funds to support publicly-owned infrastructure improvements to assist with healthcare expansions located in the Swainsboro Medical District which serves a five county region. These improvements include the 45,000 SF expansion of the Emanuel Medical Center, a publicly-owned hospital located on Hwy 57 that will include a new 8-bed Intensive Care Unit, 2 new operatory suites, recovery room, additional emergency treatment areas and 18 additional hospital rooms. The Hospital, which currently employs 420 is expected to add 38 new employees with the expansion. In addition, two additional specialized healthcare facilities are planned over the next five years that will bring additional physicians and support staff to the area to expand health care services in the region. These additions are planned to reduce the 1.5 to 2 hour drive to cities of Macon, Savannah and Augusta where medical specialists are now located.

EDGE funds to construct a building expansion and provide parking-lot paving for an existing manufacturer in Swainsboro, Capro, Inc. Capro, Inc. is a manufacturer of mechanical cables (commonly found on lawnmowers and snow blowers) that is located in a 37,000 SF facility in Swainsboro. The company will retain its current 130 jobs, create 35 new jobs and make additional private investment of approximately $145,857. The company has made previous capital investments worth $1.9MM. Swainsboro, Emanuel County is in competition with Benton, Louisiana.
