Equity funds to renovate the Greensboro Gymnasium into a Cultural Center for the community known as “Festival Hall.” The center will be used as a rental venue to bring live music and cultural events to the Greensboro community and surrounding area by drawing tourists into the Region. Top quality performances will be held for a regional audience including Greene, Morgan and Putnam counties. The Greensboro Auditorium was originally built in 1939. In 2006, the County deeded the building to the Authority for the purpose of creating the cultural center. The Greensboro Downtown Development Authority is partnering with Linger Longer Development Company (LLDS is parent of Reynolds Plantation) and Oconee Performing Arts Society (OPAS). Local investment: Greensboro Foundation $500,000; LLDS $500,000; OPAS $500,000; City/DDA $1,126,939; and Farmers Bank will finance a $586,000 funding shortfall.

Equity funds for the construction of sewer infrastructure to the Airport Industrial Park to serve two of the region's largest manufacturers: (1) North American Pipe Company (NAPCO), a producer of PVC pipe products with 129 employees; and (2) NIBCO, a manufacturer and distributor of PVC-DMV drainage fillings with 58 employees. The addition of a public sewer will allow these two companies to remain in their current location as well as provide for new development in the industrial park.

Equity funds for construction of sewer infrastructure in support of Flying J Truck Plaza near Union Point and Siloam. The Equity funds would be used to assist in the construction of a raw swewrage pump station, a 6 PVC force main, a diesel powered emergency generator and basic telemetry for remote monitoring and control of operation. This project will create at least 60 new jobs.

Equity funds to construct an airport terminal at the Greene County Airport to promote tourism/economic development within the county and surrounding region. Currently, the airport is served by an inadequately sized operations facility comprised of 660 SF. The proposed terminal building will be 5,500 SF and will include a lobby, modern meeting facilities and a welcome center that will accommodate up to 60 people.
