Equity funds to support building construction for the warehouse expansion at Saint Gobain Desjonqueres Manufacturing in Sparta, Georgia, that employs 238 and represents Hancock's only manufacturing industry. Saint Gobain is a France-based company in business since 1665 that has 190 locations throughout the U.S. and Canada, including six in Georgia. The Company is the leader in Europe and second worldwide in the production of bottles. The Sparta facility located in Hancock County decorates perfume bottles created at Saint Gobain's Covington, Georgia facility. The proposed expanded warehouse will be 130 by 150 feet and will serve the Company's new lacquer painting line. The Company leases the facility from the Development Authority.
EDGE funds to assist with construction of a 67,000 SF facility to be leased by the Development Authority to St. Gobain for further processing and etching of perfume bottles. The project will create 160 jobs (per MOU), with the majority be filled by low to moderate income.
Equity funds to fund a water and sewer engineering design study for a proposed regional industrial site in Warren County. Six counties, Hancock, Lincoln, Taliaferro, Warren, Glascock, McDuffie will share ownership in the site.
EDGE funds to secure a manufacturing/hi-tech company in Sparta, Georgia. The funding amount will be used towards the acquisition of an existing building for the company to occupy and begin operations.
