Equity funds to purchase a new laser system for the metal fabrication sector of Southern Perfection Fabrication Holdings, Inc., (SPF) located in Byron, Peach County. SPF, founded in 1982, is a family-owned business that manufactures metal racks and other items used primarily in the bakery and automotive industries. Building renovations by owners to accommodate the new equipment will allow capacity to break into new markets and better service current clients, including Loweâ€™s, Wal-Mart, Sara Lee, and Blue Bird Bus Company. SPF currently has 20 jobs and commits to create 30 jobs in 2 years.
AIRGeorgia funds to purchase Precision Instrument Approach for Runway 36 at Perry-Houston County Airport, including: ILS Glide Slope; Medium Intensity Approach Lighting System; Land Acquisition; High-Intensity Runway Edge Lighting; Airport Road Realignment; and Precision Approach Path Indicator Upgrades.
EDGE funds to retain the operations of the Blue Bird Body Company by assisting in an expansion and the purchase of an Electro-Coat System. This expansion will make room for the Company's commercial bus manufacturing and other new products. Producing commercial buses requires four times more labor than the current production of school buses therefore retaining the current 1,500 jobs and adding an additional 630 within the next 4 years.
Equity funds for wastewater infrastructure improvements to enhance industrial park located East of I-75 and S of Ga Hwy 49.
Equity funds to partner with Peach County, the Fort Valley Utility Commission and the Peach County Development Authority to provide infrastructure to the site of an existing manufacturer and other sites in Phase III of the South Peach Industrial Park.
