Equity grant funds will be used to assist with the construction of a 4,200 square foot terminal building at the Kaolin Field Airport in Sandersville, GA. The new terminal will replace a 1000 square foot concrete block building constructed in 1967. Improvements will also include a redesigned entrance road, signage, landscaping and a new parallel taxi way. Numerous aviation measures have been and are being added to the 5,000 foot lighted runway at Kaolin Field Airport, including pay-at-the-pump Avgas, Jet-A fuel capability, and a parallel taxiway which is currently under development.

BRIDGE funds to assist with the cost to develop a feasibility/business case conducted by Key Bridges that will help the five-county area (Burke, Jefferson, Jenkins, Richmond and Washington) determine their local needs and opportunities for Broadband service. Specifically, Key Bridges will work with local stakeholders to articulate a vision, conduct a needs assessment, provide application identification/suggested solutions, determine a business case-driven total cost of ownership and produce a deployment and sustainability plan. If successful, a wireless Broadband network will allow businesses within the economically-distressed five-county region to better compete in the global marketplace. TPC is $50K with a Local commitment of $10K divided among the prospective counties.

EDGE grant funds to assist with site preparation and building improvements to support the location of Bennett Building Systems, LLC (BBS) to Tennille. BBS will locate on a 20.77-acre site in a 62,500 square-foot building. As a newly formed Company, BBS will manufacture metal utility buildings such as lawn storage sheds. The Company is a new venture of Bennett International Group, LLC (BIG) that is headquartered in McDonough, Georgia. BIG provides a variety of logistics, transportation and supply-chain solutions to the government and commercial markets. Operating a total of six companies, the Company delivers these services, nationally and internationally. This project is in competition with Allendale, South Carolina.

EDGE funds to assist with site preparation costs for the construction of a manufacturing facility to support the location of Trojan Battery Company (TBC), a leading manufacturer of deep cycle (long-life) battery technology, to Washington County. TBC will construct a 132,000 SF facility situated on 42 acres in the Sandersville Industrial Park. The Sandersville facility will manufacture 6, 8 and 12 volt deep cycle batteries that will be used by the golf cart industry. The Company has an existing Georgia facility located in Lithonia that employs 365. TBC, a privately-held company started in 1925, employs a total of 600 people including its corporate headquarters located in Santa Fe Springs, California and in Lithonia, Georgia. The Company’s battery products are used in aerial work platforms (lighting), floor machines, golf and utility vehicles, boats, recreational vehicles and solar platforms. In addition, its products are sold worldwide through an extensive dealer network.

GSWP plans to locate in the City's industrial park located downtown along GA State Route 24. The company commits to creating 25 new full-time jobs and investing $1 million in new machinery and equipment.

EDGE funds for equipment purchases for the diversification efforts of J.M Huber Corporation. The company intends to enhance the Sandersville facility to allow for the production of primary kaolin. This effort will retain 154 direct jobs and 92 contractors. Sandersville is in competition with Brazil for the retention of those jobs.
