Description:
EDGE funds to assist with building acquisition and improvements to a building adjacent to its Barrow County distribution center to be used as a direct-to-consumer call center. The Authority has applied on behalf of Chico's FAS, Inc., a specialty retailer of exclusively designed private label, sophisticated, casual to dressy clothing, complimentary accessories and other non-clothing gift items. This project will create 134 new jobs within two years (100 at the call center and 34 at the distribution center) and support 211 existing jobs at the distribution center. Private investment is projected to be approximately $10.2 million. This project is in competition with outsourcing to Amazon or Yahoo.
