EDGE funds to assist with improvements to the Atlantic Southeast Airlines (ASA) maintenance facility at the Middle Georgia Regional Airport. ASA is implementing a two-phase investment. Phase I will entail the construction of a storage and training facility at the existing ASA maintenance facility. Phase II will require either the construction of a new hangar or the enlargement of the existing hangar in order to establish an additional maintenance program for the new CRJ (Canadair Regional Jet). At least 300 jobs at the ASA facility will be retained with the continuation of existing operations, and Phase II is expected to generate an unspecified number of new jobs.
