EDGE funds to assist with site preparation costs for the construction of a new 520,000 SF distribution center to be located in Airport East Industrial Park in Bibb County. Kohl's Department Stores, Inc., a national retailer, is seeking to open and operate a regional merchandise processing and distribution facility for the southeastern United States. Macon, Bibb County is in competition with Lanett, Alabama. The project will create 200 new jobs within the first year, expanding to 300 jobs by the end of the third year and increasing to 400 jobs by the end of the fifth year.
