Description:
EDGE funds to asist with site preparation for 60-acres adjacent to Interstate 75 in Bibb County. The Authority has applied on behalf of Bass Pro Outdoor World, L.L.C., a national sporting goods retailer that plans to open a 500,000 SF regional merchandise processing and distribution facility for the southeastern United States. In addition, plans include 120,000 SF of retail space. The distribution center will be the Company's first regional distribution center and serve the company's retail stores located in GA, FL, TN and VA. This project will create 270 new jobs initially (120 for the distribution center and 150 for the retail component). Private investment is projected to be $34 million. This project is in competition with South Carolina.
