Description:
EDGE grant funds of $800,000 will be used to assist with building improvements and equipment purchases to assist with the location of a commercial aircraft service facility in Macon for Bombardier Services Corporation (BSC). The Macon facility complements two other Bombardier service centers in West Virginia and Arizona. BSC, a business unit of the Canadian manufacturer, Bombardier, Inc. (BI), provides a wide variety of aircraft maintenance services. BSC will provide heavy maintenance services exclusively for Georgia-based Atlantic Southeast Airlines (ASA). The aerospace unit of BI, under which BSC falls, is the third largest civil aircraft manufacturer in the world behind Boeing and Airbus. The Macon facility is a reflection of the company’s commitment to high quality maintenance support for its customers.
