Description:
Equity funds to assist with the cost of water, sewer and road infrastructure extensions into the county's first industrial park to support its anchor tenant, Roastwood Materials, in the creation of 52 jobs. This 250-acre industrial park was purchased by the Brooks County Development Authority in 2005 for $1.25 million. The Company will construct a new wood drying kiln facility and saw mill in order to process lumber products for use in the construction of decks, exterior siding and interior paneling for Lindal Cedar Homes and Lindal Additional. Lindal Cedar Homes, started in 1945 and with nearly 300 sales outlets nationwide, are designed from the patents, copyrights and trademarks of Sir Walter Lindal. The company has a patented tongue & groove interlocking design requiring no nails or screws for assembly and a patent/trademark for the kiln processing. Roastwood and Lindal have executed a 5-year renewable contract for production of wood products. In addition, the Company will purchase lumber from 21 Georgia wood suppliers.
