EDGE funds to purchase land needed for Sanderson Farms, Inc. (SFI) to locate a hatchery and feed mill on approximately 125 acres in Cook County. SFI is a major regional supplier of chicken in the Southern U.S. and the nations's sixth leading supplier of poultry products to consumers and restaurant businesses. The property will be owned by the Adel IDA and will be leased to the company. This project will create 160 new jobs. Adel, Cook County is in competition with Alabama and Texas.
