Description:
EDGE funds to assist with capital improvements to an existing chicken processing facility to be acquired and expanded by Perdue Farms. This facility is currently operated by Cagle's with 1,150 employees. Perdue Farms is a leading international food and agriculture business with customers in 40 different countries. This project is in competition with Kentucky and North Carolina. The project is expected to retain the 1,150 existing jobs, and create an additional 700 new jobs.
