Equity funds for street, water and sewer improvements to serve a 400-acre addition to the McIntosh County Industrial Park located along Interstate Highway 95 near Darien. The Authority has purchased 400 acres to expand the Park. They need assistance, however, in extending infrastructure for Phase II. The County is located along I-95 between Savannah and Jacksonville and bordered on its east by the Atlantic Ocean. It is strategically located for regional distribution and manufacturing centers serving the eastern seaboard and/or export markets through the Savannah and Brunswick ports, yet remains rural in nature and has not been included in the unprecedented development taking place to its north. Manufacturing and distribution facilities typically require 40-50 acre sites and the Park’s current sites are 10-15 acres. The expansion improvements will enable the Authority to promote the industrial sites which will include 319 developable acres after excluding wetlands.
