Description:
Equity funds to assist with the rehabilitation of a downtown building to be used as a medical clinic by the Randolph County Hospital Authority. Currently the satellite clinic, Southwest Georgia Regional Medical Center (SWGRMC) is operating out of the Shellman Police Station. SWGRMC has committed to create 5 new jobs in addition to benefiting the residents by providing quality health care. Randolph County is one of the most impoverished counties in Georgia, and many of the patients living in the area cannot afford medical services. The clinic will also provide a sliding fee scale and indigent drug program to patients who qualify. The clinic will be staffed by a physician, mid-level provider, practice manager, an assistant and a receptionist.
