Dear County and Public Safety Officials:

In a collaborative effort, the OneGeorgia Authority, Department of Community Affairs and Georgia Emergency Management Agency are sponsoring an applicant's workshop for the recently approved Regional E-9-1-1 Fund. The regulations and a budget of $3 million were unanimously approved at the OneGeorgia Authority board meeting on August 13th in Moultrie. This program, available only for multi-county or regional projects, will provide financial assistance to those rural counties without 911 emergency services.

The workshop is scheduled for Tuesday, September 24th from 9 AM to 3 PM at the Dubose Porter Business & Industry Training Center located on the campus of Heart of Georgia Technical College in Dublin. Please see the enclosed map for directions.

The workshop agenda will include a presentation of the Regional E-9-1-1 program and concept, detailed instructions for preparing the grant application and an opportunity in an informal setting to discuss your specific project and any concerns you might have. If you intend to apply for funding under this program, we strongly recommend that at least one representative from each local government attend this workshop. You should submit a copy of the enclosed registration form for each person planning to attend. Should you have questions or need more information regarding the workshop, please refer to contact information listed on the registration form.

We are excited about this new program and encourage you as well as other potential regional partners to attend this important workshop.

Sincerely,

Nancy C. Cobb
